Hailing from Pennsylvania, Nick Cantwell has always had an interest in culture and art. As a skateboarder since age 8 and an enthused photographer since age 12, he began shaping and developing his perspective at a young age. At 17, Nick began attending Antonelli Institute of Photography in Philadelphia where he learned the ins and outs of shooting, processing, and developing film in both 35mm format and large format. After his first year, Nick set his sights on an education from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. Throughout the 3 years at Brooks, Nick cultivated his skills in large, medium, and 35mm formats and applied them to shooting product and lifestyle imagery. Working with clients such as Vans, Stance, and interning for skateboard photographer Anthony Acosta, he gained valuable experience in his field while still at school. Nick completed his studies in August of 2015 with a BFA in Professional Photography. As a freelance in-house photographer for Stance Socks in San Clemente, Nick is currently based out of Orange County. His desire for travel and drive to follow his dreams means he will be taking jobs, both in Southern California, and anywhere else his fresh and unique perspective is desired.
"I live this lifestyle, photographing it is second-nature" -Nick Cantwell
